He who trust ONLY without obeying might not get any result, but trusting and obeying brings one to the experimental side of Christianity. This can be compared to willing ONLY and willing and ACTION. No matter how willing you are, without Action you will never see any result.

For those who are thinking this is all this man wrote: actually, he wrote over 100 hymns but most are not sung now. Most of them are on the themes of trust and obedience. You can Google him for more info. As with all writers, time has a way of sifting out the poorer hymns and leaving the best and this is definitely his best. We still sing it regularly in our Methodist Church.
