I am Thine, O Lord, I have heard Thy voice

1
I am Thine, O Lord, I have heard Thy voice,
  And it told Thy love to me;
But I long to rise in the arms of faith,
  And be closer drawn to Thee.

Draw me nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
  To the cross where Thou hast died;
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
    To Thy precious, bleeding side.
2
Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord,
  By the pow’r of grace divine;
Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope,
  And my will be lost in Thine.
3
O the pure delight of a single hour
  That before Thy throne I spend,
When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God,
  I commune as friend with friend!
4
There are depths of love that I yet may know
  Ere Thee face to face I see;
There are heights of joy that I yet may reach
  Ere I rest in peace with Thee.

Yes indeed Anderson! This is a great song for devotion. I use the song in my devotions this morning as well. And I desire to be drawn closer to the Lord. Over 100 years ago she wrote this song and it is still blessing many lives today. Franny Crosby was blind, but God still used her in a mighty way! I am thine oh LORD.

This song made a perfect morning devotion for me today. I am fed in his presence, drawn by the Spirit to experience the Lord's new mercies in yet another day He has provided.

Interesting. The Lord bids me by the hour. The third stanza reminds me of my obligation daily. As I wake and give myself first to Him, with the knowledge that He first gave Himself to me. Children of God must picture themselves actually approaching Christ on the Cross, a place of reflection, sorrow and victory. It's a new year of self reflection, self improvement and drawing nearer to God. Shalom, till we see Him in Glory.

This hymn is divine and not ordinary hymn.. Thank You Holy Spirit!

Please note:

The 4th verse needs to be edited thus;

There are depths of love that I cannot know till I cross the narrow sea; There are heights of joy that I may not reach till I rest in peace with Thee.

Thank you.

Sang this song by my father's hospital bed last year. He breathed his last breath as we sang the last words to the 4th verse. This song will forever hold a special place in my heart.

I bless God for this wonderful and inspirational hymn. It's my favourite and always spur my heart to think of God's proximity and my innermost longing of Him.
