Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine;
Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.
2
Perfect submission, perfect delight,
Visions of rapture now burst on my sight;
Angels descending, bring from above
Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.
3
Perfect submission, all is at rest,
I in my Savior am happy and blest;
Watching and waiting, looking above,
Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.

"Blessed Assurance" stands the test of time. It humbles me to know others have been visiting and commenting here for more than ten years...and I just found it tonight. Like many others, I remember my dad singing it at the top of his capacity. I can hear his voice as if it is yesterday, now silenced for 25 years. This song was his comfort in WWII and all through his life including the loss of my birth mother, and his new life with my step mom and all eight of us kids. I love the words; they are food for the weary.

Am assured by the assurances of this hymn that Jesus is mine. May His name continue to be praised as we worship Him with this hymnal, Amen.

What a peaceful song.My grandmother always love to sing this song. RIP grandma Iris, I miss you so much. Things is not the same since you pass, everyone is drifting apart. I continue to lift my head high, and make sure that the Lord is in the center of everything I do. With Christ all things a possible.

What a wonderful song, my husband has now passed. It was one of the songs he repeatedly sang. The words were not always correct, but oh how he sang that song. I am assured Bob is singing for Jesus now. As believers, Blessed Assurance and a new resurrection is ours.

I was just talking about Fanny Crosby the other day. When life handed her a bad deal (becoming blind at the hands of a quack doctor)...she did not become bitter but, instead, gave praise to God for her lot in life. Yes, she did do what she could with what she had and oh, how it has blessed us! I thank God for her, for her life and for her gifts that she shared. May we all learn a lesson in this: even in the "dark times" God has a purpose and we can have hope in Him. We can trust Him.

It always reminds me of the assurance we have in the perfect work of our Christ. It is a song of thanksgiving that always fills me with joy and the love of our God anytime l sing it . Never got tired of singing it over and over again.

Jane Cosby–a blind lady all her life–wrote this wonderful lyrics. What are we sighted doing? She left us an everlasting hymns that I play sometimes all day. We must bless her in Jesus name.

This hymn always reminds me about the how God loves us, way back in 1982 when I received Jesus Christ as my personal Savior and God I was changed; my whole life was changed and became new. This wonderful song keeps me in God's service. That's why I'm longing for the hymnal songs thats touch my soul; songs that brings me to the fullest service in God, Hallelujah.
