King of my life, I crown Thee now

1
King of my life, I crown Thee now,
  Thine shall the glory be;
Lest I forget Thy thorn-crowned brow,
  Lead me to Calvary.

Lest I forget Gethsemane;
Lest I forget Thine agony;
Lest I forget Thy love for me,
  Lead me to Calvary.
2
Show me the tomb where Thou wast laid,
  Tenderly mourned and wept;
Angels in robes of light arrayed
  Guarded Thee while Thou slept.
3
Let me like Mary, through the gloom,
  Come with a gift to Thee;
Show to me now the empty tomb,
  Lead me to Calvary.
4
May I be willing, Lord, to bear
  Daily my cross for Thee;
Even Thy cup of grief to share,
  Thou hast borne all for me.
5
Fill me, O Lord, with Thy desire
  For all that know not Thee;
Then touch my lips with holy fire,
  To speak of Calvary.

It’s my only prayer, Lest I forget .... lead me to Calvary. Every word is so meaningful, it always draws my heart closer to the Lord.

So touching to the soul and simply beautiful, Thanks for what our Lord and saviour endured and suffered on the cross!

This was one of the first hymns that I was taught as a child. It remains so precious to me to now that Christ died for our sins that we may live. It still humbles me when I sing it.

Great words. I have sung them since a child. This morning in Lockdown here in the UK. Very precious. Been thinking this morning of the fact that even in the terrors of the cross the centurion could see my Lord was both innocent and the the Son of God and worshipped Him. In these dark days it’s wonderful to worship him. He defeated death and worthy of all praise. Hallelujah what a Saviour.

I learned this song when I was a young girl. I was touched by the words and it has become one of my favorite hymns. It brings tears to my eyes when I sing it. I'm thankful to God for the Gift of His Son our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and the finished work on Calvary.

The shed blood of Jesus at Calvary is the most precious gift of God. Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.

My sin and guilt covered by His most precious blood; lest I forget His love for me, lead me to calvary.

I just love this song..... this takes me back when Jesus was in Gethsemane taking all the sin of this world. He did not had to do it but he did it for us. Let us not take it for granted.
