Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised

Scriptures for Singing

English1335
1
Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised,
In the city of our God,
In the mountain of His holiness.
Beautiful in elevation, the joy of the whole earth,
Is Mount Zion, on the sides of the north,
The city of the great King.
Is Mount Zion, on the sides of the north,
The city of the great King.

For all of the VBS years I was blessed to attend as a child, and the later children ministries via UNION GOSPEL MISSION in Seattle, Washington during the mid 1980's as a youth worker, the blessing of this Psalm to this particular tune reopens my childhood joy, trust and hope. May we never forgot that first love.

Thank you and God for allowinng the internet where things can be looked up so easily.

A friend posted a picture of Zion in Utah today, and immediately this song that I haven’t sung in maybe 30 or more years came to mind. I like relating peoples pictures and comments to Gods word and hymns/songs. PTL
