I was sinking deep in sin, Far from the peaceful shore, Very deeply stained within, Sinking to rise no more; But the Master of the sea Heard my despairing cry, From the waters lifted me, Now safe am I. |
Love lifted me! Love lifted me! When nothing else could help, Love lifted me. Love lifted me! Love lifted me! When nothing else could help, Love lifted me. |

All my heart to Him I give, Ever to Him I’ll cling, In His blessed presence live, Ever His praises sing. Love so mighty and so true Merits my soul’s best songs; Faithful, loving service, too, To Him belongs. |

Souls in danger, look above, Jesus completely saves; He will lift you by His love Out of the angry waves. He’s the Master of the sea, Billows His will obey; He your Savior wants to be— Be saved today. |

This song came to my mind in a service last evening while the preacher was delivering a sermon on Peter walking towards Jesus on the water and sinking when he saw the waves and took his eyes off Jesus. Just had to look it up and play it as I have not sung it for a few generations. Blessings. Maurice

It's been the hymn on my heart since last month. As I go through a peculiar hardship ever in my life, the song just rise from the deep of my heart and, all of the sudden, my entire being resounds:
Love lifted me
Love lifted me
When nothing else could help
Love lifted me!

The song came to mind early this morning, decided to google and find this piece of wonderful hymnal music. Love this song so I played it the whole morning at work and my colleague keeps saying he love the song too.
Only God's love gives the unending peace and reigns in our heart.
Thanks a lot. God bless!!

If you want to hear the Gospel...look up the old hymns. There will be no question what you are signing about...Jesus was born, Jesus lived, Jesus died and rose again to save sinners like me and you.

I used to sing the song to my kids when they were little. My 3 boys are now in their twenties and even though I raised them to serve the Lord, they are not serving the Lord right now. I just got through singing this song with my husband, and after reading some of the comments I'm sure the Lord will bring this song back to their minds.

Sung it as a child up through my young adult years. I to woke up singing this song this morning although I no longer go to church. It's a song that reminds you of a true love, one that never leaves you no matter how far you go. On this day my dear friends will see their daughter for the last time while on this Earth she died of cancer this past week. Although she was 47 she is still their baby girl. My one thought this morning when I woke was how God's Love can and will lift you when your at your lowest. My prayer this day is that God gives my dear friends the Mcduffie's peace and lift them in a way only possible with God. In the storm God remains in control.

I remember as a teen, now 73 singing that song and laughing with my friends at a church service at a movie theatre at which we were forced to go to by coach. It haunted me and stayed with me it was played the day I got saved (age 32). It was played the day I was baptized, and many years later as I was ordained to serve. He will seek the lost and blind sinner, I am blessed He sought me out that day as a teen and never gave up. What a Glorious God!
