Let me hide myself in Thee;
Let the water and the blood,
From Thy riven side which flowed,
Be of sin the double cure,
Save me from its guilt and power.
Can fulfill Thy law’s demands;
Could my zeal no respite know,
Could my tears forever flow,
All could never sin erase,
Thou must save, and save by grace.
Simply to Thy cross I cling;
Naked, come to Thee for dress,
Helpless, look to Thee for grace:
Foul, I to the fountain fly,
Wash me, Savior, or I die.
When mine eyes shall close in death,
When I soar to worlds unknown,
See Thee on Thy judgment throne,
Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in Thee.

The song is truly an inspiration, inspiration from the Holy Spirit and it's only the inspired that can truly acknowledge and know its meaning and true worth.

Each day God gives me a song to sing and on today He placed this one in my spirit and I have been singing it all morning. This is one of my favorite songs. It reminds me of all thay Jesus did for me. I am so grateful.

My father's & grandparents' favorite hymn, which they sang to all children & grandchildren while rocking them to sleep. Now I sing it to my grandchildren. It is a comfort, especially when clinging to the cross, to know I am in The Kingdom by God's love and grace only—not through my deeds—which are paltry. What joy to see comments from Africa and throughout the world—especially discussing "double cure". The Body of Christ! Beautiful Body of Christ!
