Let me hide myself in Thee;
Let the water and the blood,
From Thy riven side which flowed,
Be of sin the double cure,
Save me from its guilt and power.
Can fulfill Thy law’s demands;
Could my zeal no respite know,
Could my tears forever flow,
All could never sin erase,
Thou must save, and save by grace.
Simply to Thy cross I cling;
Naked, come to Thee for dress,
Helpless, look to Thee for grace:
Foul, I to the fountain fly,
Wash me, Savior, or I die.
When mine eyes shall close in death,
When I soar to worlds unknown,
See Thee on Thy judgment throne,
Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in Thee.

We sang this old hymn tonight in family worship time. Then I began to scroll through the previous comments. What a blessing it is to see all of these brothers and sisters in Christ from all over the world. We will worship together in heaven, and in a sense we worship together now. I love you though I don’t know you!

I bless the name of the Lord for the devotion of this life that brought this hymn is always a blessing.
My own cry is that whatever was assigned me to contribute to the body of Christ I will be careful to know it and to execute it in Jesus Christ name Amen.

Lots of tears... Quand Papa faisait notre lessive, repassait les habits pour toute la famille en preparation du Sabbat. Il chantait et rythmait ses activites avec entre'autre ce morceau!

Even today, 256 years after this hymn was written is still touches our hearts. Thanks be to our God who provides Shelter From The Storm.

Blessed to the one that the spirit of the Lord came upon to delivered this hymn.
Forever He will be my rock, in Him I hide myself.
This hymn makes my day.
Shalom

I really love this song and love to put on my status almost everyday without getting tired.

The song encourages me that I am hidden in rock that has been creft for me, especially at this time of great financial need.
