If I gained the world, but lost the Savior,
Were my life worth living for a day?
Could my yearning heart find rest and comfort
In the things that soon must pass away?
If I gained the world, but lost the Savior,
Would my gain be worth the lifelong strife?
Are all earthly pleasures worth comparing
For a moment with a Christ-filled life?
Were my life worth living for a day?
Could my yearning heart find rest and comfort
In the things that soon must pass away?
If I gained the world, but lost the Savior,
Would my gain be worth the lifelong strife?
Are all earthly pleasures worth comparing
For a moment with a Christ-filled life?

Had I wealth and love in fullest measure,
And a name revered both far and near,
Yet no hope beyond, no harbor waiting,
Where my storm-tossed vessel I could steer;
If I gained the world, but lost the Savior,
Who endured the cross and died for me,
Could then all the world afford a refuge,
Whither, in my anguish, I might flee?
And a name revered both far and near,
Yet no hope beyond, no harbor waiting,
Where my storm-tossed vessel I could steer;
If I gained the world, but lost the Savior,
Who endured the cross and died for me,
Could then all the world afford a refuge,
Whither, in my anguish, I might flee?

O what emptiness!—without the Savior
’Mid the sins and sorrows here below!
And eternity, how dark without Him!
Only night and tears and endless woe!
What, though I might live without the Savior,
When I come to die, how would it be?
O to face the valley’s gloom without Him!
And without Him all eternity!
’Mid the sins and sorrows here below!
And eternity, how dark without Him!
Only night and tears and endless woe!
What, though I might live without the Savior,
When I come to die, how would it be?
O to face the valley’s gloom without Him!
And without Him all eternity!

O the joy of having all in Jesus!
What a balm the broken heart to heal!
Ne’er a sin so great, but He’ll forgive it,
Nor a sorrow that He does not feel!
If I have but Jesus, only Jesus,
Nothing else in all the world beside—
O then everything is mine in Jesus;
For my needs and more He will provide.
What a balm the broken heart to heal!
Ne’er a sin so great, but He’ll forgive it,
Nor a sorrow that He does not feel!
If I have but Jesus, only Jesus,
Nothing else in all the world beside—
O then everything is mine in Jesus;
For my needs and more He will provide.

Nothing in this world can compare to Our Lord Jesus Christ. Everything we need is in Jesus Himself, because all that we seen in this world are only shadow, CHRIST is the reality, and real satisfaction, Oh the Joy of having all in Jesus.

Whenever I have time to listen to this song, it always reminds me that He is everything to us. All the riches, worldly pleasures can never satisfy me, all are just vanity of vanities. PTL! that He keeps on reminding us, O how we need to turn to Him.

Whenever I have the opportunity to listen to this song, it has a property of breaking and giving me a renewed focus about the Lord. If I gained the world but lost my Savior is rather an endless tragedy that can happen to our world. What can a man give in exchange for his soul.

This song really touched the depths of my hardened heart. I was at the point of questioning whether I could continue my pursuit of the Lord, hopeless and disillusioned by everything the world had to offer. I broke down in tears upon hearing the song and applying the words to my own situation. I realize that God has a plan and the world is just a distraction, having the potential to hinder your spiritual growth. Praise Him for allowing us to be humbled and brought back to Him!

When I heard this song it remind me about the Lord and the world. In my experience many times I love the world most especially when I look the needs of my family. But the Lord's mercy is all the time and the grace is sufficient for us. The Lord renews my mind and I want to declare to all that I love the Lord Jesus and not the world nor the things of the world. Lord Jesus I really love You. I may change in everything Lord but I never change in Loving YOU.
