I choose to love my Lord

NS798
1
My outward state has left me defeated;
With every trial yet further I fall.
It seems as if there’s been no progress made.
But in the midst of it all…

“I choose to love my Lord,
Regardless of my outward sight!
I choose to love my Lord,
With all my heart, with all my might!
I love my Lord!”
2
When I come face to face with temptations,
It seems that I still haven’t yet learned.
So powerless my strength is to resist.
All I can do then is turn…
3
But even then, the guilt comes to haunt me:
My body’s full of weakness and sin.
Yet His word says, “new heart” He’s given me.
So I by faith say within…
4
Although I’ve failed, I know He still loves me.
He’s gaining me each step of the way.
His heart of love towards me shall never change.
Oh, how my heart burns to say…

“I choose to love You, Lord,
Regardless of my outward sight!
I choose to love You, Lord,
With all my heart, with all my might!
I love You, Lord!”

We should not be discouraged by anything inward or outward. I was saved by this verse: but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire. 1 Cor 3:13b. As the Lord exposes and burns away the dross and all that is of man it is so easy to close ourselves and disqualify ourselves. However, we should choose to love the Lord. Religion says you need to change and do better, but God's grace is sufficient and it is His economy to add Himself to us. Always be encouraged and strengthen to choose to love the Lord!

Amen.
