1
Face to face with Christ, my Savior,
Face to face—what will it be,
When with rapture I behold Him,
Jesus Christ who died for me?
Face to face—what will it be,
When with rapture I behold Him,
Jesus Christ who died for me?
Face to face I shall behold Him,
Far beyond the starry sky;
Face to face in all His glory,
I shall see Him by and by!
Far beyond the starry sky;
Face to face in all His glory,
I shall see Him by and by!
2
Only faintly now, I see Him,
With the darkling veil between,
But a blessed day is coming,
When His glory shall be seen.
With the darkling veil between,
But a blessed day is coming,
When His glory shall be seen.
3
What rejoicing in His presence,
When are banished grief and pain;
When the crooked ways are straightened,
And the dark things shall be plain.
When are banished grief and pain;
When the crooked ways are straightened,
And the dark things shall be plain.
4
Face to face! O blissful moment!
Face to face—to see and know;
Face to face with my Redeemer,
Jesus Christ who loves me so.
Face to face—to see and know;
Face to face with my Redeemer,
Jesus Christ who loves me so.

📖“For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. ”

Just a comment on the words of Felix in Nairobi quoted in this list. In Second Corinthians 5:21, God‘s Word tells us that Jesus took all of our sins in his body on the cross and that God put all of Jesus‘ righteousness on us. Therefore, when we stand before God, he will not count our sins and weigh them against our efforts to please him. Every sin that I have committed or ever will commit in this life was placed on Jesus. When I reach the gate of Heaven, God will see only the righteousness of Jesus in which I have been clothed; all of my sins – past, present, and future – were placed on Jesus at the cross. As a result, I join Felix in striving to please him in everything – but out of gratitude, not out of fear that I might somehow fall short of Heaven’s entrance-requirements. As a result, I have the same confidence that the hymn writer expresses in longing for that day on which I’ll see him face-to-face. What a wonderful day that will be! There are many great hymns of the faith, but this is surely one of my favorites.

Thank you for this wonderful help, specially the simple guitar chords.
I'm learning to read notes with your sheet music so as to sing this hymn as it was written at the celebration of the graduation of a dear woman of GOD.

I have known this hymn since childhood. My father was a minister, teacher and a man of God. My mother was a teacher, Sunday school teacher, Dean of Women for a Baptist University, storyteller and artist. She prayed for a daughter who would sing years before I was born. Her prayers were answered, and she said that hymns were the best of my music. She, my father and my husband are FACE TO FACE with Christ our Saviour. May we all meet them there.

I was answering a question in Bible Study of "Revelation" and started to sing it. The words in this song was the answer to my question. Thank You.
