The Spirit’s great cloud and hallowing fire

1
The Spirit’s great cloud and hallowing fire
Show God’s nature, divine and bright;
From this comes the life the creatures receive
To show forth God to all man’s sight.
2
The likeness of Christ they live out each day,
Manifest His full glory bright;
In life like a man, in strength like a lion,
In toil, an ox, with eagle’s flight.
3
Straight forward each step, discerningly move;
Living, fresh, in resplendence, bright,
They’ve passed through God’s fire, been tempered, refined,
To be man’s judgment and his light.
4
Restrained not by earth, through God do they soar,
Yet still working in human form,
With God as their cov’ring, Christ as their boast,
Expressing God, not self, their norm.
5
By Christ’s grace and pow’r, they’re joined and attuned;
As each functions, no turn they need.
Like coals do they burn, like torches they shine;
They flash with every move and deed.
6
By walking in Spirit, they have God’s move
High and awesome, with visions full;
Christ moves in their move, His holy face shows;
They move as one in Spirit full.
7
With sky crystal clear, and conscience at peace,
They all speak, listen quietly;
They speak as one man to thus God express
And rout in full God’s enemy.
8
With throne in the heav’ns, what heavenly view:
Christ is reigning as man on high;
He’s bright as pure gold, as holy as fire,
Surrounded by a rainbowed sky.
