What a Friend we have in Jesus, All our sins and griefs to bear! What a privilege to carry Everything to God in prayer! O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear, All because we do not carry Everything to God in prayer!

Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere? We should never be discouraged, Take it to the Lord in prayer. Can we find a friend so faithful Who will all our sorrows share? Jesus knows our every weakness, Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.

Are we weak and heavy-laden, Cumbered with a load of care? Precious Savior, still our refuge— Take it to the Lord in prayer; Do thy friends despise, forsake thee? Take it to the Lord in prayer; In His arms He’ll take and shield thee, Thou wilt find a solace there.
For this song, I thank Lord that how faithful and loving is he. Lord has used person like Joseph to go through practically where these touching words sprang to give more love in calling his name...
I pray God strengthened all weak and weary like me right now. We will find the grace and power to take everything to God in prayer. People of God worldwide, please pray for me.
I just found this website today. What a wonderful resource! It is easy to find the older hymns that I sang as a child, but which are less commonly used in church today. (I am 72 years old now. )
It is exciting and inspiring to see comments from so many places around the world. In particular, I was surprised to see how many come from Africa, so far away from where I live, and where life is so different from my experience. It is comforting and reassuring to see directly how many Christians there are all over the world.
We bear such needless pains, just because we do not carry everything to God in prayer. This song is a whole sermon. Thank you Jesus for never leaving me.
