Day by day, and with each passing moment

1
Day by day, and with each passing moment,
Strength I find to meet my trials here;
Trusting in my Father’s wise bestowment,
I’ve no cause for worry or for fear.
He, whose heart is kind beyond all measure,
Gives unto each day what He deems best,
Lovingly its part of pain and pleasure,
Mingling toil with peace and rest.
2
Every day the Lord Himself is near me,
With a special mercy for each hour;
All my cares He fain would bear and cheer me,
He whose name is Counsellor and Pow’r.
The protection of His child and treasure
Is a charge that on Himself He laid;
“As thy days, thy strength shall be in measure,”
This the pledge to me He made.
3
Help me then, in every tribulation,
So to trust Thy promises, O Lord,
That I lose not faith’s sweet consolation,
Offered me within Thy holy Word.
Help me, Lord, when toil and trouble meeting,
E’er to take, as from a father’s hand,
One by one, the days, the moments fleeting,
Till with Christ the Lord I stand.

I accepted her back with open heart and arms after 2yrs 11 mths and then she left again and almost died in an accident. My help comes the Lord.

This song has been my guiding light and comfort for the last month but more so since October 26 when she almost died in the accident.

"Help me then, in every tribulation,

So to trust Thy promises, O Lord,

That I lose not faith’s sweet consolation,

Offered me within Thy holy Word.

Help me, Lord, when toil and trouble meeting,

E’er to take, as from a father’s hand,

One by one, the days, the moments fleeting,

Till with Christ the Lord I stand".

"Trusting in my Father’s wise bestowment,

I’ve no cause for worry or for fear. He, whose heart is kind beyond all measure,

I love this song, so sweet , so lovely, and comforting.

In time of sorrow, pain, troubles, reminding me "How Great my Lord, my Savior,

"Every day the Lord Himself is near me,

With a special mercy for each hour;"

What a beautiful Savior I have!!!

I have no worry at all!!! Hallelujah...

Great song!!!

"Trusting in my Father’s wise bestowment,

I’ve no cause for worry or for fear."

Even death has no strength because He is with us, He died for that, to give us sweet consolation offered for free within His Holy Word.

O Jesus my Saviour, I love You

The melody is so sweet like a soft murmur!!!

Thank you for this song.

This precious old hymn has been such a blessing since my husband was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer a few months ago.

"Day by day, and with each passing moment,

Strength I find to meet my trials here;

Trusting in my Father’s wise bestowment,

I’ve no cause for worry or for fear.

He, whose heart is kind beyond all measure,...

As thy days, thy strength shall be in measure,”

This the pledge to me He made.

Gives unto each day what HE deems best.

I remember this hymn most keenly when I was a teenaged girl and my heart was broken over a betrayal. As I walked in the rain I sang this song over and over, and it soothed my soul. It has a way of settling your heart in being reminded that The Lord will use every circumstance in our lives for good, if we have yielded our hearts to Him. Then our suffering can be for His glory, even if the reason we are in it is due to our own sin. To God be the glory!
