Amid the trials that I meet,
Amid the thorns that pierce my feet,
One thought remains supremely sweet—
Thou thinkest, Lord, of me!
Amid the thorns that pierce my feet,
One thought remains supremely sweet—
Thou thinkest, Lord, of me!
Thou thinkest, Lord, of me!
Thou thinkest, Lord, of me!
What need I fear when Thou art near,
And thinkest, Lord, of me!
Thou thinkest, Lord, of me!
What need I fear when Thou art near,
And thinkest, Lord, of me!

The cares of life come thronging fast,
Upon my soul their shadows cast;
Their gloom reminds my heart at last
Thou thinkest, Lord, of me!
Upon my soul their shadows cast;
Their gloom reminds my heart at last
Thou thinkest, Lord, of me!

Let shadows come, let shadows go,
Let life be bright, or dark with woe,
I am content, for this I know
Thou thinkest, Lord, of me!
Let life be bright, or dark with woe,
I am content, for this I know
Thou thinkest, Lord, of me!

I grew up in Indonesia and we used to sing this song in Indonesian and the words often come back to me, "Hu ingatla aku" (literally, Thou rememberest me!

You are nearer than I can imagine Lord when I sing this song. Your wonders to perform for those who trust completely in You. Thank You Jesus for the cross.

I am sitting here and watching my loving wife on a sick bed. Our two children playing oblivious of the great sorrow that has overtaken me. With the song in the background and an uncertain future, I am trying to pull myself together. Please pray for us.

Whenever I remember that the Lord cares and thinks of me I am strong in all trials. He has promised not to leave us orphans.
What a comforting God we have. Day and Night, in joy and in sorrow, His thoughts are with us.

I'm facing trials of unemployment, but the song has really inspired. Thank you all at Hymnal.net for a wonderful job.

It is very comforting that no matter what we go through God is thinking about us. Our friends or family may forget about us, but God has us in His thoughts and He wants the best for us. Praise His holy name. We serve a loving compassionate Father!!!!
