Take the name of Jesus with you, Child of sorrow and of woe; It will joy and comfort give you, Take it then where’er you go. |
Precious name! Oh, how sweet! Hope of earth and joy of heav’n; Precious name! Oh, how sweet! Hope of earth and joy of heav’n. |

Take the name of Jesus ever, As a shield from every snare. If temptations round you gather, Breathe that holy name in prayer. |

God speaks to us through His Word, and also through precious songs like this one. I woke up with only a few words in my mind, and couldn’t remember the name, but God works in mysterious ways. I praise you God for giving us your only begotten Son. JESUS
I love this song♥️🙌 but why are the last two lines in the 3rd and 4th verse different?

This hymn came to my memory and I was glad to find this resource to help out. Refreshing to the soul that we have a name greater than any other name.

Why are the last two lines different? I’ve always seen and sung it as “King of kings in heaven we’ll crown him when the journey is complete. ”

I woke of this morning with this beautiful comforting song on my lips. I could only remember the 1st stanza well. Coming here really gave me the assurances of the victory one can have by taking the Name of Jesus along every second, minute and hour of each day.
God bless you for this online resource.

During my devotion this morning, this song was dropped into my heart, I checked for it in our church hymn book but not found, immediately I goggle for it and was very happy to find it on your website. I sang it and God blessed my heart. Keep on the job, God will bless your endeavours. We will be counted worthy to sing together at the Marriage of the Lamb of God. Revelation 19:5-9.

"Take the Name of Jesus with you", how true!!
I learnt this hymn as a child from the Church of Christ that met in my grand mum's home. Thanks be to God for the Name of Jesus. He is all I will ever need. Praise His Holy Name!
