1
The Lord’s my Shepherd, I’ll not want;
He makes me down to lie
In pastures green; He leadeth me
The quiet waters by.
He makes me down to lie
In pastures green; He leadeth me
The quiet waters by.
2
My soul He doth restore again,
And me to walk doth make
Within the paths of righteousness,
E’en for His own name’s sake.
And me to walk doth make
Within the paths of righteousness,
E’en for His own name’s sake.
3
Yea, though I walk in death’s dark vale,
Yet will I fear no ill;
For Thou art with me, and Thy rod
And staff me comfort still.
Yet will I fear no ill;
For Thou art with me, and Thy rod
And staff me comfort still.
4
My table Thou hast furnished
In presence of my foes;
My head Thou dost with oil anoint,
And my cup overflows.
In presence of my foes;
My head Thou dost with oil anoint,
And my cup overflows.
5
Goodness and mercy all my life
Shall surely follow me,
And in God’s house forevermore
My dwelling-place shall be.
Shall surely follow me,
And in God’s house forevermore
My dwelling-place shall be.

He is indeed and so glad I could see the lyrics, and hear the tune. So blessed tonight. Christmas is truly a time for miracles. The words say it all. Thank you for this. A happy and Holy Christmas to all.

Our family is going through some very difficult times right now. This hymn is very precious. How happy I was to hear the music with it.

When I need guidence and ask my Shepherd He guides me to safety and the still quiet waters. I thank Him for being the peace Giver and the Provider of all I need for body, soul and spirit. I am happy to be His sheep.

Beautiful song. We are having 'Night of Psalms' at church tonight and this is one I'll definitely be doing. It's the very first song from the Psalms I learned at primary school in Jamaica almost half a century ago and it's impact is even more powerful today than it was then!

My prayer group and I were inspired to used this hymn as the theme song for a 40 days of prayer (Oct 3-Nov 11, 2011). It is a lovely prayer (see Psalm 23) done in song and we truly appreciate it!

As I was meditating on this hymn, the Spirit assures me of
God's love, mercy. goodness, faithfulness, guidance, greatness, provision, kindness, protection, etc. Father, I thank You for knowing You - Amen. Please Father, touch the hearts of all who do not know You yet with this hymn, Amen! Jehovah-raah- The Lord My Shepherd.

I cannot ever sing this hymn without being reduced to tears. Then I know that God is very close to me.
