What a comfort these old hymns are. How they remain hidden in our memory and then the Holy Spirit brings them to our remembrance just when we need them. This morning He did just that. Praise God.

Just this evening The Holy Spirit brought it back to my memory, so I decided to Google it to go through the lyrics once again.

Until we see the footmarks of the Saviour Jesus Christ, we may not be able to plant our feet on them.

It is like a spiritual anthem to me that always reminds me of my first resolve and promise to serve my Creator to the end despite the obstacles mostly in the form of sweet and alluring temptations. Whenever, I am weak, the wordings of the song reminds me of the purpose of my faith and the need to stay focused till the end.

This soul stirring hymn made a very impression on me as a young lad. Our church would sing a stanza after each soul had gone through the waters of baptism. In those sacred and tender moments I was acutely aware of the Holy Spirit wooing me closer to the heart of the Father. Oh how I love and adore Him!

A very soul inspiring and soul uplifting sing. We sang this for the first time when were inaugurated into the Methodist Youth Fellowship at Ajumako Ochiso in the central Region of Ghana in July 1997.
We made a firm promise to serve Jesus to the end. Thank God we are still serving Him and He's still our guide. He's ever near us despite the murmurs of our self will. He keeps on speaking to us in ascent clear and still. We see Him planting our feet into His footprints. Thanks to Jesus for being my Saviour and Friend.
