O Love, that wilt not let me go

1
O Love, that wilt not let me go,
I rest my weary soul in Thee;
I give Thee back the life I owe,
That in Thine ocean depths its flow
May richer, fuller be.
2
O Light, that followest all my way,
I yield my flickering torch to Thee;
My heart restores its borrowed ray,
That in Thy sunshine’s blaze its day
May brighter, fairer be.
3
O Joy, that seekest me through pain,
I cannot close my heart to Thee;
I trace the rainbow through the rain,
And feel the promise is not vain
That morn shall tearless be.
4
O Cross, that liftest up my head,
I dare not ask to fly from Thee;
I lay in dust life’s glory dead,
And from the ground there blossoms red
Life that shall endless be.

The author was inspired to write this hymn in 5 minutes during a time of distress.

The writer of this hymn was about to get married...but when after he got physically blinded, you know what happened next. For that reason, he was rejected by the woman. Just because of that case, the woman refuse to marry him and even took care of him. So when he was under distress he wrote this hymn in five minutes. The Lord's love is eternal and it wilt not let us go.

This verse kept ringing in my being when I listened to this song: (2 Cor.l2:9)"And He has said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, my power is perfected in weakness...."
