To God be the glory, great things He hath done,
So loved He the world that He gave us His Son,
Who yielded His life our redemption to win,
And opened the life-gate that all may go in.

Oh, perfect redemption, the purchase of blood,
To every believer the promise of God;
The vilest offender who truly believes,
That moment from Jesus a pardon receives.

Great things He hath taught us, great things He hath done,

Our wonder, our transport when Jesus we see.

A very comforting and reassuring song that it's important to praise the Lord. To God be the glory.

It is indeed a great song. An Important reminder of the pains Christ had to go through for our sake, lest we forget. Powerful ministration too

I am always blessed with this song. It connects me direct to Almighty God above and blesses my soul and body. Thank You Jesus Christ for Your love, care, mercies and salvation of souls.

I take issue with the lyrics as they are presented here, especially in the first stanza: "Who yielded His life our redemption to win." The original lyrics as written by Fanny Crosby is "who yielded His life an atonement for sin." Jesus was the sacrificial lamb for the payment of our sins. "Our redemption to win" is a weak replacement for what actually took place on the cross. Thank you!

The words of this hymn are amazing. I was uplifted in my spirit after singing the hymn. It also brought nostalgic feeling to me. I sang this hymn for the first time about 42 years as form one pupils at Government Comprehensive Secondary school, Port Harcourt, Nigeria. It's great singing the words today and they ministered to my spirit. God is awesome.

What wonderful news for us—even today... I love how we all—brothers and sisters from across the world—are touched by God’s Word through song... one day we will be in God’s presence praising Him together!
