To God be the glory, great things He hath done, So loved He the world that He gave us His Son, Who yielded His life our redemption to win, And opened the life-gate that all may go in.
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, Let the earth hear His voice; Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, Let the people rejoice; Oh, come to the Father, through Jesus the Son, And give Him the glory; great things He hath done.

Oh, perfect redemption, the purchase of blood, To every believer the promise of God; The vilest offender who truly believes, That moment from Jesus a pardon receives.
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, Let the earth hear His voice; Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, Let the people rejoice; Oh, come to the Father, through Jesus the Son, And give Him the glory; great things He hath done.

Great things He hath taught us, great things He hath done, And great our rejoicing through Jesus the Son; But purer, and higher, and greater will be Our wonder, our transport when Jesus we see.
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, Let the earth hear His voice; Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, Let the people rejoice; Oh, come to the Father, through Jesus the Son, And give Him the glory; great things He hath done.
Praise the Lord for his mercy and for his blessings

Oh, perfect redemption, the purchase of blood,
To every believer the promise of God;
The vilest offender who truly believes,
That moment from Jesus a pardon receives.
WE ARE REDEEMED BY HIS BLOOD; MEANING THAT NOTHING CAN SEPARATE US FROM JESUS

If this true then I am mad and the universe is bonkers. But It IS true! It IS true! Oh my, I do not know what to do! What a wonderful thing it is to know the love of God and the reality of the resurrected saviour!

My 94 year old Mom has dementia. She hums this song continuously, even when dozing. Sometimes she makes up new lyrics to the melody. It now plays over & over in my head, too. My sisters and I have laughingly agreed that this will be one of the songs we play at her funeral.

Amen. I love when I wake up and there’s a song like this in my mind don’t know why that happens

I have found myself singing this chorus continually, whether at the supermarket, in the street, in the garden, but mostly as I wake it is already singing in my heart, The Holy spirit fills me with the praise of God. So happy to finally put verses to the song, thank you
Third, we may classify the hymns by the sentiment expressed in the hymns. This is the deepest and most important matter in choosing a hymn. The sentiment of a hymn is the tender feeling of that hymn. The more tender a hymn is, the deeper is its sentiment. Two hymns may have the same subject and be under the same subdivision, but there may be a difference between them in sentiment. For example, Hymns, #39 and #52 are both hymns on the worship of the Father, but they have very different sentiments. Hymns, #39 is a good hymn that is full of excitement. Singing this hymn may make us want to shout. In contrast, Hymns, #52 is a very tender and fine hymn, perhaps the most tender and fine hymn in the section on the worship of the Father. If we study and pray over this hymn, we will sense how deep and tender its feeling is.
