Naught have I gotten but what I received; Grace hath bestowed it since I have believed; Boasting excluded, pride I abase; I’m only a sinner saved by grace!
Only a sinner saved by grace! Only a sinner saved by grace! This is my story, to God be the glory, I’m only a sinner saved by grace!
2
Once I was foolish, and sin ruled my heart, Causing my footsteps from God to depart; Jesus hath found me, happy my case; I now am a sinner saved by grace!
Only a sinner saved by grace! Only a sinner saved by grace! This is my story, to God be the glory, I’m only a sinner saved by grace!
3
Tears unavailing, no merit had I; Mercy had saved me, or else I must die; Sin had alarmed me, fearing God’s face; But now I’m a sinner saved by grace!
Only a sinner saved by grace! Only a sinner saved by grace! This is my story, to God be the glory, I’m only a sinner saved by grace!
4
Suffer a sinner whose heart overflows, Loving his Savior to tell what he knows; Once more to tell it, would I embrace— I’m only a sinner saved by grace!
Only a sinner saved by grace! Only a sinner saved by grace! This is my story, to God be the glory, I’m only a sinner saved by grace!
Only a sinner saved by grace, this is my story, to God be the glory. Thank You Lord, we are saved by grace! Hallelujah!!

Have been singing this song firmly imprinted on my mind from childhood all day. The truth of the lyrics and chorus bring thankful tears to my eyes. So encouraged to see similar responses from many parts of the world. Oh the joy of sins forgiven!

This wonderful old hymn has been running through my memory this morning. The longer I live, the more I realize just how true the words of this old hymn are for me. I thank God for His unspeakable gift: Salvation through Jesus Christ alone! I've had a long life, and as each day passes, I realize ever more clearly just what a sinner I am and how amazing and beautiful is the grace of my Savior. "What wonderous love is this, O my soul, O my soul!..." I surely am "only a sinner saved by grace..."

these words are going through my mind so often lately; mornings ; or evenings; and I am so thankfull when I do start singing it as I am only a sinner saved by grace: not by works; but my father's grace and love: I pray I love others the same: it is difficult at times; but with God's help it is doable:
God bless everyone stay safe; and healthy

What a blessing to be continually reminded of this great act of grace. I could only weep when I was singing the last verse.

That's who I am – Only a sinner saved by Grace.
Sometimes I forget the glory of his grace and am tempted to cheapen it, but this song reminds me.
I pray for more of God's sanctifying grace for myself and all who know His salvation. AMEN
In the midst of the saints we should not be able to boast of anything. There is nothing special about elders and deacons. They are only brothers. The chorus of hymn #251 in Chinese says, "I am a sinner saved by grace!" We have no position to assume among the brothers and sisters. We are not a special class of people among them; we are sinners saved by grace. Although the elders and co-workers do not flaunt a difference among the saints, their attitude indicates that they are different from the brothers and that they are a little higher than the brothers. May the Lord have mercy on us. We need to remove such a situation from among us. If people who come to the church can tell who among us are the "bosses" and who are the "subordinates," it is to our shame. We must remove the concept of rank.
