On Christ the solid rock I stand is a song that gives hope to does that know the God they serve. remember He said when ever the soul of my feet shall step in, I will possess. so He is truly the solid rock I stand and all other rock are sinking sand. May God never let me down in time of needs I pray in Jesus name, Amen

I am going through stuff now but I strongly believe that nothing can move me away from the rock Jesus Christ because I am coming out stronger.

To God be the glory. This is so nice. Whenever I sing it it moves me. Yes, Jesus Christ is the only Rock one can built hope on because other ground are sinking sand. Thank You O Lord for being my everlasting Rock.

This song reassures my relationship with God . It lifts me when I am down.

This is a very powerful hymn and whenever I hear it, it refreshes my soul and connects me to the throne room. Shalom!

I love the Lord. Singing brings so much joy, and reading and listening to the words brings more understanding about all God is.

In Matt 7:24-27, on which this hymn is based, to build on the solid rock is to hear Christ's words and DO them. To build on the sand is to hear Christ's words and NOT DO them.

Matt 7:24 starts with "Therefore", meaning that it explains the previous verses about entering into the kingdom, so I've included them:

Matt 7:21 Not every one that says unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

24 Therefore whosoever hears these sayings of mine, and does them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

Mote was born of very poor, unGodly parents in London., England. At the age of 16, as a cabinet maker's apprentice, he was taken by his master to hear a preacher, through whom Mote received the Lord. He became a well-known cabinet maker, and at the age of 55 he became a minister of a Baptist church in Sussex, England. There he ministered for another 21 years until poor health forced him to step down. He wrote more than 100 hymn texts in his life. This hymn may be his best known. I love this hymn, whenever I sing the song it always brings hope and joy to me.

This is a song that will bring alive every dead thing in you. It brings a relationship between you and God the Father.
