My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus Christ, my righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.
Than Jesus Christ, my righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.

When darkness veils His lovely face,
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.

His oath, His covenant, His blood,
Support me in the whelming flood;
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.
Support me in the whelming flood;
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.

When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh, may I then in Him be found;
In Him, my righteousness, alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.
Oh, may I then in Him be found;
In Him, my righteousness, alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.

Someone has got the words wrong.
It should be
First verse... Jesus’ blood and righteousness’
Forth verse... clothed in His righteousness alone...
Any righteousness I have is because of the righteousness Christ has imputed to me through His sacrifice and shed blood
1Peter 3:18 Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God.

Boy, did this ever stir up a ruckus at church.
If you're going to change the words - please tell us next time.
My righteousness has nothing to do with it - it's Jesus' blood and righteousness which is the forgiveness of God and the Gift of the grace of God.

When my mind runs through this hymn it strengthens my faith in God. I believe in each line on the song.
Thank You Jesus.
You are correct (Anonymous on Oct 25). The Blood is removed by your modern day hymns and singers just like it is in the modern day bible versions. This hymn was written by Edward Mote in the early 1800s and he believed Hebrews 9. 22 which says "without shedding of blood is no remission." and Romans 3. 24-25 which says "Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins..."
I thought the first verse was, "My hope is built on nothing less Than Jesus' blood and righteousness;"

Despite my ups and down in life, Jesus is my sure foundation, He as never left me for once and He will contnue to be there for me. my traveling to europe may seems to look abortive but one thing is certain I have a sure father who will never let me down, untill my expectation be granted and I promise not to look for another altenative than Jesus my sure foundation.

It's only You at the centre of it all oh Lord, in you alone will I put my trust and I believe You would see me through this day and forever. Thank You Lord Jesus for Your mercies that keeps us through the night and Your faithfulness that wakes us up each morning. Thank You for loving us!

Our Lord Jesus Christ is ever faithful. He’s never too late or too early. Just trust and obey Him in all things. If I can testify of His goodness and mercy, anyone can. He answered me when all hope was lost and when everyone thought it was over for me. Our God is good and sweet.

Jesus is The Way, The Truth and The Life. Apart from Him, I can do nothing. Thank You Jesus for dying in my place and declaring me righteous before God. I love You Lord!!!!!
