My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus Christ, my righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.
Than Jesus Christ, my righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.

When darkness veils His lovely face,
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.

His oath, His covenant, His blood,
Support me in the whelming flood;
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.
Support me in the whelming flood;
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.

When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh, may I then in Him be found;
In Him, my righteousness, alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.
Oh, may I then in Him be found;
In Him, my righteousness, alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.

You are right Paula. As I sang, I bumped into something (my words and the lyrics had a variance) but I "auto corrected". "My memory must be wrong" sort of thing. Thanks for highlighting this.
As Believers we stand before the Throne of God only on the basis of Jesus Blood and His Righteousness. I have no righteousness of my own apart from Yeshua. At my best, mine is as a filthy rag and allows me no audience before the Father.

The Lord is my support and stay, an ever present help in trouble… trusting in his Holy Word, he’s never failed me yet… his promises are sure! 🙏 and the Lord can be trusted to keep his promises.

To note: In almost every hymnal and the original poem the 2nd line of verse one reads, "than Jesus' blood and righteousness." The 3rd line of verse four is, "Dressed in His righteousness alone."
The only place I've seen it written this way is from a cover done decades ago by the Christian band "Glad." Better, I think, in its original wording.

Surely CHRIST is the only solid rock we can stand and succeed in life, all other grounds is sinking sand (stay away from them). Thanks you Jesus for loving me even when I did not know you.

Ah, we are missing the last verse.
“I trust His righteous character
His counsel, promise, and His power
His honour and His Name’s at stake
To save me from the burning lake! ”
Abeokuta, Nigeria
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay...
There's certainly no other ground to safely anchor our lives. Thank you Jesus
