I stand amazed in the presence
Of Jesus the Nazarene,
And wonder how He could love me,
A sinner condemned, unclean.
Of Jesus the Nazarene,
And wonder how He could love me,
A sinner condemned, unclean.
How marvelous! How wonderful!
And my song shall ever be:
How marvelous! How wonderful!
Is my Savior’s love for me!
And my song shall ever be:
How marvelous! How wonderful!
Is my Savior’s love for me!

For me it was in the garden,
He prayed: “Not my will, but Thine.”
He had no tears for His own griefs,
But sweat-drops of blood for mine.
He prayed: “Not my will, but Thine.”
He had no tears for His own griefs,
But sweat-drops of blood for mine.

In pity angels beheld Him,
And came from the world of light
To strengthen Him in the sorrows
He bore for my soul that night.
And came from the world of light
To strengthen Him in the sorrows
He bore for my soul that night.
4
He took my sins and my sorrows,
He made them His very own;
He bore the burden to Calv’ry,
And suffered, and died alone.
He made them His very own;
He bore the burden to Calv’ry,
And suffered, and died alone.

When with the ransomed in glory
His face I at last shall see,
’Twill be my joy through the ages
To sing of His love for me.
His face I at last shall see,
’Twill be my joy through the ages
To sing of His love for me.

I woke up this morning with this hymn on my mind and tongue. As many others have testified here, I hadn’t thought of this song for years. I am nearly 70 years old and received a liver transplant almost two years ago. I am now healthy, but I feel that God recalls these old hymns to us to prepare us to be with Jesus and “to sing of his love for me. ”

Just had to say something from Australia. I found myself singing this old hymn I haven't sung since a child. It now has tremendous meaning. How great is God's love for us. My heart is overflowing with love and joy to our wonderful Saviour.

These precious hymns I grew up with are proving to be great sources of strength, along with God's Word, during these uncertain days. Many mornings I will wake up with a hymn on my mind that I haven't heard in years, and I'm refreshed and renewed!
