The deep, sweet well of life:
Its living streams I’ve tasted
Which save from grief and strife.
And to an ocean fulness,
His mercy doth expand;
His grace is all-sufficient
As by His wisdom planned.
And my Beloved’s mine;
He brings a poor vile sinner
Into His house of wine!
I stand upon His merit;
I know no other stand.
I’m hidden in His presence
And held by His own hand.
But her dear Bridegroom’s face;
I will not gaze at glory,
But on my King of grace:
Not at the crown He giveth,
But on His pierced hand;
The Lamb is all the glory,
And my eternal stand!

"O I am my Beloved’s,

I was listening to this hymn once sung on the channel rladbsl, and I was shown in the mind the scenes in an actual wedding ceremony, pertaining to the third stanza. You know how usually the wives are so concerned about their wedding gown, that they even spend much money that they would look beautiful on their wedding day. And come the actual day, the two are so excited because everything is decorated so beautifully, and everyone is dressed well and present to honor their coming together. Well, on that day when I am joined to my Saviour, may I not be concerned with my garments, or with the glories that may be around, but only with His face. For He is the beauty of wedding, and He is the glory.
And another thing I saw, that may be the beauty of His face? Well, it is the spit of the soldiers when they crucified Him. It is my spit on His face when I crucified Him. And yet there He is, loving me intensely and taking me as His own. Surely that is a humbling thought. Bless Him for all eternity. May He be blessed for all eternity. Amen.

The Bride eyes not her garment,
But her dear Bridegroom’s face
