1
Praise to the Lord, the Almighty,
the King of creation!
O my soul, praise Him, for He is thy
health and salvation!
All ye who hear,
Now to His temple draw near;
Sing now in glad adoration!
the King of creation!
O my soul, praise Him, for He is thy
health and salvation!
All ye who hear,
Now to His temple draw near;
Sing now in glad adoration!
2
Praise to the Lord, who o’er all
things so wondrously reigneth,
Who, as on wings of an eagle,
uplifteth, sustaineth.
Hast thou not seen
How thy desires all have been
Granted in what He ordaineth?
things so wondrously reigneth,
Who, as on wings of an eagle,
uplifteth, sustaineth.
Hast thou not seen
How thy desires all have been
Granted in what He ordaineth?
3
Praise to the Lord, who hath fearfully,
wondrously, made thee!
Health hath vouchsafed and, when
heedlessly falling, hath stayed thee.
What need or grief
Ever hath failed of relief?
Wings of His mercy did shade thee.
wondrously, made thee!
Health hath vouchsafed and, when
heedlessly falling, hath stayed thee.
What need or grief
Ever hath failed of relief?
Wings of His mercy did shade thee.
4
Praise to the Lord, who doth prosper
thy work and defend thee,
Who from the heavens the streams of
His mercy doth send thee.
Ponder anew
What the Almighty can do,
Who with His love doth befriend thee.
thy work and defend thee,
Who from the heavens the streams of
His mercy doth send thee.
Ponder anew
What the Almighty can do,
Who with His love doth befriend thee.
5
Praise to the Lord! Oh, let all that
is in me adore Him!
All that hath life and breath, come
now with praises before Him!
Let the Amen
Sound from His people again;
Gladly for aye we adore Him.
is in me adore Him!
All that hath life and breath, come
now with praises before Him!
Let the Amen
Sound from His people again;
Gladly for aye we adore Him.

I remembered this hymn from high school morning devotion in Jamaica. This sets the tone for the day hence less violence in schools back then. I’m happy to find the lyrics here- the words are inspirational!

While setting outside this morning and praising God for His Beautiful creation .
I started to sing this song but could not remember all the lyrics.. I was so excited to find the entire song and sing it to the Lord !!! One of my favorites!

I was graciously reminded of this beautiful hymn this morning when I opened my Bible app and today's verse of the day stated from 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 of which the first line says "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ". What a beautiful hymn, what a blessed day.

This hymn was placed on my mind this morning. The Lord often using music to draw me to Himself and speak to me. I knew the first stanza but needed the rest of it. What a blessing! God says He inhabits the praises of His people!

I woke up yesterday with this song in mind. I hadn't listened to it or sang it in a long time as well. But I knew God wanted me to praise Him with this hymn. So I kept singing it and came here to find the lyrics I was missing. The hymn is all so nostalgic. Reminds me of my primary school days.
It's amazing to find that the comments before mine generally echo the same thing. God is doing a new thing and He wants us to praise Him - with this beautiful hymn.

This hymn struck a note of nostalgia in me this evening as we sang it during our family devotion. It happened to be our processional song during our wedding some 25 years ago. I appreciate the Lord for the inspiration.

Haven't sung this in many years. Learned this song as a little girl in the Baptist Church. I love old hymns and as I get older, I find myself resorting to embracing them more during worship
