Let me hide myself in Thee;
Let the water and the blood,
From Thy riven side which flowed,
Be of sin the double cure,
Save me from its guilt and power.
Can fulfill Thy law’s demands;
Could my zeal no respite know,
Could my tears forever flow,
All could never sin erase,
Thou must save, and save by grace.
Simply to Thy cross I cling;
Naked, come to Thee for dress,
Helpless, look to Thee for grace:
Foul, I to the fountain fly,
Wash me, Savior, or I die.
When mine eyes shall close in death,
When I soar to worlds unknown,
See Thee on Thy judgment throne,
Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in Thee.

In the hymn "Rock of Ages" is the phrase "Let the water and the blood be of sin the double cure..." The water probably refers to ones' baptism, the blood refers to the crucifixion and the "riven side."

I’m not sure that ”the water and the blood” provide a ”double cure” for sin. I believe that Jesus was already dead, when a soldier speared Jesus’ side and water and blood flowed out, proving his death. Jesus’ death alone was what cleansed our sins away. There is no ”double cure” by His water and blood.
