Pass me not, O gentle Savior

1
Pass me not, O gentle Savior,
  Hear my humble cry;
While on others Thou art calling,
  Do not pass me by.
  Savior, Savior,
  Hear my humble cry;
While on others Thou art calling,
    Do not pass me by.
2
Let me at Thy throne of mercy
  Find a sweet relief;
Kneeling there in deep contrition,
  Help my unbelief.
3
Trusting only in Thy merit,
  Would I seek Thy face;
Heal my wounded, broken spirit,
  Save me by Thy grace.
4
Thou the spring of all my comfort,
  More than life to me;
Whom have I on earth beside Thee?
  Whom in heaven but Thee?

Those are the old fashion songs that I really love it. It is so meaningful and words are so peace speaking.

The impression came from my wife this evening as we contemplated the invitation to be part of the '144,000' company as seen in the book of Revelation chapter 14.

The story of blind Bartimaeus in Mark 10 and that of Zacchaeus in Luke 19 provided a queue.

I LOVE this song! And Emma, while you have a point in your comments that this song does deal with unbelief, we as born again believers can still sing it because we need to be reminded that our trust is in God alone. Maybe you have reached the level of faith that the rest of us strive to reach. However I know for a fact that many still at times are fighting doubt.

As beautiful as this song maybe, a born again Christian should not be singing this song... We are to worship in spirit and truth as believers, this song comes from a place of unbelief... We are to know who we are in Christ, God sees us Kings and priests we do not beg. As a new Born again Christian it's not possible to have a broken spirit as Christ is now living inside of you... This life isn't physical is spiritual, you approach God from your spirit not from your flesh. Think about this as it will change the way you worship... We are not waiting for the Holy Spirit to come into about churches... He is already in us, we are to stir up the spirit. Bless you all.

As I sat at my desk at work after reading a few chapters in the book of Joshua, this song came to my spirit. This song takes me back a long way hearing my grandmother singing and praising our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This song brings comfort to your soul. No matter what we are facing or going through our Savior hears our humble cry. Trusting in Him, I know He will not pass me by, this will be my opening song at the next service, before I preach.
