1
I’ve wandered far away from God,
Now I’m coming home;
The paths of sin too long I’ve trod,
Lord, I’m coming home.
Coming home, coming home,
Nevermore to roam;
Open wide Thine arms of love;
Lord, I’m coming home.
2
I’ve wasted many precious years,
Now I’m coming home;
I now repent with bitter tears,
Lord, I’m coming home.
Coming home, coming home,
Nevermore to roam;
Open wide Thine arms of love;
Lord, I’m coming home.
3
I’m tired of sin and straying, Lord,
Now I’m coming home;
I’ll trust Thy love, believe Thy word;
Lord, I’m coming home.
Coming home, coming home,
Nevermore to roam;
Open wide Thine arms of love;
Lord, I’m coming home.
4
My soul is sick, my heart is sore,
Now I’m coming home;
My strength renew, my hope restore:
Lord, I’m coming home.
Coming home, coming home,
Nevermore to roam;
Open wide Thine arms of love;
Lord, I’m coming home.
5
My only hope, my only plea,
Now I’m coming home;
That Jesus died, and died for me;
Lord, I’m coming home.
Coming home, coming home,
Nevermore to roam;
Open wide Thine arms of love;
Lord, I’m coming home.
6
I need His cleansing blood, I know,
Now I’m coming home;
O wash me whiter than the snow;
Lord, I’m coming home.
Coming home, coming home,
Nevermore to roam;
Open wide Thine arms of love;
Lord, I’m coming home.

After so many years Lord I'm coming home to Your Love! This is such a great blessing that You welcome us with open arms!

A few years back the Holy Spirit spoke to me and urged me to lead a group of distant prayer partners to worship and pray using this song to bring back to sanity a son of one of our members. By morning of the following day I was receiving a message that the boy had become as calm as a dove and since that time he has never gone back to his strange wayward ways. Join me in singing it to restore a daughter of a friend. She is married as a 3rd wife to an illiterate, abusive man. Her mother is so disturbed and has high blood pressure as a result. I will share the miracle with you. Thanks and be blessed.

This song touches my heart and moves me near and nearer to God. It reminds me of God's love unto me. It reminds me where God brought me from. Glory be to Almighty God who takes us the way we are and makes us more like Him.

One of the great hymns of faith. This hymn has brought me through some very hard times. Thank You, God.

It's a great hymn of experience, only Christ can bring and accept us home. Thank You Lord for this moving song. We have wasted many years on things that do not satisfy, only Jesus can give what we need.

Born in Ireland, Kirkpatrick spent most of his life around the Philadelphia area where he served as music director in various Methodist churches. He is said to have compiled 100 gospel song books. -Songs of the Spirit by Martin
Kirkpatrick wrote this song at a camp meeting in Rawlinsville, Pennsylvania, with a very specific purpose: to win the soul of his soloist, a nonbeliever. After Kirkpatrick prayed for the young man, these words came to him. He wrote them down quickly, and after the soloist sang them that night, he became a Christian.- Winning Songs by John J. Hood
