If I gained the world, but lost the Savior,
Were my life worth living for a day?
Could my yearning heart find rest and comfort
In the things that soon must pass away?
If I gained the world, but lost the Savior,
Would my gain be worth the lifelong strife?
Are all earthly pleasures worth comparing
For a moment with a Christ-filled life?
Were my life worth living for a day?
Could my yearning heart find rest and comfort
In the things that soon must pass away?
If I gained the world, but lost the Savior,
Would my gain be worth the lifelong strife?
Are all earthly pleasures worth comparing
For a moment with a Christ-filled life?

Had I wealth and love in fullest measure,
And a name revered both far and near,
Yet no hope beyond, no harbor waiting,
Where my storm-tossed vessel I could steer;
If I gained the world, but lost the Savior,
Who endured the cross and died for me,
Could then all the world afford a refuge,
Whither, in my anguish, I might flee?
And a name revered both far and near,
Yet no hope beyond, no harbor waiting,
Where my storm-tossed vessel I could steer;
If I gained the world, but lost the Savior,
Who endured the cross and died for me,
Could then all the world afford a refuge,
Whither, in my anguish, I might flee?

O what emptiness!—without the Savior
’Mid the sins and sorrows here below!
And eternity, how dark without Him!
Only night and tears and endless woe!
What, though I might live without the Savior,
When I come to die, how would it be?
O to face the valley’s gloom without Him!
And without Him all eternity!
’Mid the sins and sorrows here below!
And eternity, how dark without Him!
Only night and tears and endless woe!
What, though I might live without the Savior,
When I come to die, how would it be?
O to face the valley’s gloom without Him!
And without Him all eternity!

O the joy of having all in Jesus!
What a balm the broken heart to heal!
Ne’er a sin so great, but He’ll forgive it,
Nor a sorrow that He does not feel!
If I have but Jesus, only Jesus,
Nothing else in all the world beside—
O then everything is mine in Jesus;
For my needs and more He will provide.
What a balm the broken heart to heal!
Ne’er a sin so great, but He’ll forgive it,
Nor a sorrow that He does not feel!
If I have but Jesus, only Jesus,
Nothing else in all the world beside—
O then everything is mine in Jesus;
For my needs and more He will provide.

My 15 yr old said "Mom, you really need to learn some new songs...". "Ok, you teach me then?" "Ummm... here is a good one! I will teach you more after you are done with this one." ... "Mom, did you do anything with the song I gave you yesterday?"

We don't have this song in Armenian but I hope we'll soon translate it. It touched me very very much! May the Lord bless you!

I am 14 yrs. old and I remember listening to this hymn in the 6th grade conference. And I remember I wanted to cry because I have taken the Lord for granted and at times, I still do. But praise the Lord He is in us! Praise the Lord He's by our side.... Lord through big or small I need You!
I consecrate myself to You!
Gain my heart, Lord.
Use me to build up Your church and Body!
Help me be a grace finder.
Help me be an ark builder.
Help me be an age turner!
I fully open to You Lord!
My heart is an open door and I'd like You to come inside!

Thank You Lord Jesus that You gave mercy to us. That we might know that You are all our riches. Thank You Lord that You showed us that we would not be saved if we love this world. O the joy of having all in Jesus! Lord, whenever we have problems, You are there to be our comfort, our solace. We have peace every time we touch Your presence.

I already know this song before when I serve the teenagers, but I don't have a deep feeling, I just like the music... but this time, I know what the writer feel when he wrote this song. The Lord enlightened me through the situation that He arranged, that's nothing can compare with God's presence... how we suffered without it... Oh Lord Jesus, my Savior, You know that I still love You...

I got this song when I was in the Full Time Training in Indonesia. I was really touched by the Lord and renewed my concecration upon Him. Yes, I must lose the world to gain the Lord more and more. Ich liebe Dich, Herr!!

I love this song because it remind me about the Lord and world. by the Lord's mercy and grace, I declare to all that I love the Lord Jesus and not the world nor the things of the world. The gospels remind me that we cannot serve the two master. I would rather choose the Lord because everything in world is temporal, refuse, dung, and are just vanity. May all the young people in the Lord's recovery may see this vision. We are for the Lord's recovery. The Lord be with you all saints. Amen!!!

This is one of my favorite song, because the the moment I heard this it reminds me that nothing in this world can satisfy us but the Lord Jesus only, only Jesus! Praise the Lord, that Jesus Christ is our satisfaction! and as young people , we should not lose the Savior rather, we should gained the Lord and lose the world. In this way we are being preserved by Christ Jesus!! Oh Hallelujah!!

Lord Jesus You alone can satisfy me. You alone can fill me. Lord Jesus, I know I won't be able to thank You enough for loving me so much, so marvelous, so unconditional! Lord praise be Your Name forever! Amen!
