Before the first time You displayed Your death,
You firstly prayed Your people all be one;
Each time we gather to display Your death,
In us, O Lord, may this Your will be done.
There’s but one loaf, one Body we are made.

For all Your churches, Lord, this prayer we bring,
Not to divide or one another shun.
Draw us that we to one another cling;
Thus drawn, we’ll all hold fast to You as one.

We also pray for all the sheep who’ve left;
Good Shepherd, bring them back, no more to stray.
Back to the truth Your first disciples kept,
Back to the church that keeps this truth today;

Lord, soon the signs will all have passed away;
In heav’nly Zion, we’ll be one fore’er,
With all saints, changeless peace enjoy for aye,
Limitless love toward one another share.
What matchless joy, with all God’s sons to be
Enjoying love and peace eternally!
