It's 2.30am and it's been a restless night so far, but praises be to GOD the gentle melody of 'what a friend we have in Jesus' breaks over my soul like the soothing summer breeze. I am reminded that my soul's anguish can be averted by taking the matter to the Lord in prayer, for He cares for me. Thank You Holy Spirit.

Indeed what a friend we have in Jesus. He is ever ready to carry every burden we place on Him. Thank You Jesus for this great provision. Praise the Lord!! My very best friend had been constant on my mind, so I call her. She explained her trouble's, and the Holy Spirit pinned the words of this song on my heart. I explained to her that the mystery behind her problem's rest within this Hymn. I also told her, that the enemy would come quickly, to try to discourage her to not talk to me anymore, because I know he hates me, nevertheless, I instructed her to tell Satan to get Thee Behind, and praise God in advance for what He has already done. Singing this hymn this morning, I feel so happy, so free. This is the first time the words of the hymn has meant so much to me. We really still carry unnecessary pain and forfeit peace in our lives just because we haven't really relied on God totally. We carry our issues to God but in the same strength we also want to find solutions ourselves to those same issues we carried to God thereby causing ourselves needless heart ache and restlessness.

I also read my daily bread today and remembered this song. It is a reminder of the love God has for us and all the gifts He gives to us that we take for granted or don't even remember we have. We don't have to carry our burdens , our pains, our sins. We just have to come to Jesus's feet and lay them before Him and pray with Him and talk to Him. His love is the healing our souls need.
