Through all the changing scenes of life,
In trouble and in joy,
The praises of my God shall still
My heart and tongue employ.
In trouble and in joy,
The praises of my God shall still
My heart and tongue employ.
2
Oh, magnify the Lord with me,
With me exalt His name;
When in distress to Him I called,
He to my rescue came.
With me exalt His name;
When in distress to Him I called,
He to my rescue came.
3
The hosts of God encamp around
The dwellings of the just;
Deliverance He affords to all
Who on His succor trust.
The dwellings of the just;
Deliverance He affords to all
Who on His succor trust.
4
Oh, make but trial of His love,
Experience will decide
How blest they are, and only they,
Who in His truth confide.
Experience will decide
How blest they are, and only they,
Who in His truth confide.
5
Fear Him, ye saints, and you will then
Have nothing else to fear;
Make you His service your delight,
Your wants shall be His care.
Have nothing else to fear;
Make you His service your delight,
Your wants shall be His care.

My Mum shared this Hymn with me a few weeks before she went to be with the Lord (82) on 4/March 2020, it reminds me of her kind humility, the peace she enjoyed through Christ, trusting in Him is good advice to remember, from God through the writer via my dear Mother, looking forward to talking to her again in our dear Lords presence:) but even more to seeing our saviour!

What else? When troubled, I called HIM and he came to my aid. I love this hymn and I am very grateful for the energy I draw from the text in times of adversity. So far, so good. May the blessings be.

Indeed fear Him ye saints and fear none. We must have pleasure in His service and He will take care of our needs.
Our faith in the Great God will make us greater than the one who is in the world.

My father and mother-inlaw visited us when I was in dire stress , and my father-inlaw said to me " what you are going through now is what is called the changing scenes of life." And the first line of this great hymn came to mind. I reached for my Methodist Hymn Book afterwards and read through the hymn and ever since it has remained my best hymn. It brings me joy and deep encouragement.

Through life's ups and downs, in moments of despair, when I am tempted to give up, even when all hope seem lost and fear engulf me, this powerful hymn is what carries me on.
I believe no matter what happens to me, through all the changing scenes of life, God is always there for me and mankind. All we need to do is trust completely in his unfailing love and call on him. I am Catholic but I so much love this powerful hymn of the Methodist Church. 🙏🏾

Through the Changing Scenes of life; God remains the same. No matter what we go through; he is there with us through it all

I learned this song from my grand mother years ago, I never forget it. The words are comforting and reassuring.

This hymn keeps on inspiring me to depend on our God. He is with me. It has been one of my favourite hymns since college in 2004 and still, it is.
