Day by day, and with each passing moment, Strength I find to meet my trials here; Trusting in my Father’s wise bestowment, I’ve no cause for worry or for fear. He, whose heart is kind beyond all measure, Gives unto each day what He deems best, Lovingly its part of pain and pleasure, Mingling toil with peace and rest. |

Every day the Lord Himself is near me, With a special mercy for each hour; All my cares He fain would bear and cheer me, He whose name is Counsellor and Pow’r. The protection of His child and treasure Is a charge that on Himself He laid; “As thy days, thy strength shall be in measure,” This the pledge to me He made. |

Help me then, in every tribulation, So to trust Thy promises, O Lord, That I lose not faith’s sweet consolation, Offered me within Thy holy Word. Help me, Lord, when toil and trouble meeting, E’er to take, as from a father’s hand, One by one, the days, the moments fleeting, Till with Christ the Lord I stand. |

David Beam, thank you so much for your added verses. I love the meditation put into them. I plan to share them with my friends if that’s alright. It’s a beautiful hymn and a great reminder of God’s never-ending Mercy.

Somehow Ps 127 vs 1&2 brought me here... toil, agitation, emptiness are our efforts without being fellow laborers with GOD.

This is the song that I wake up spontaneously humming everyday since the COVID-19 outbreak. God bless everyone.

Here are two new verses the Lord just gave me. Enjoy!
In the still of quiet meditation
I consider your providential hand.
And the work, and comfort of your Spirit
Leading me through your perfect plan.
Each step I take, I’m trusting in your promise,
That you’ll stay, here close by my side.
Though this dark, and sometimes frightful journey,
Bring me through, safe to the other side.
On that day, we’ll see you in your splendor,
Unhindered praise and worship will reside.
Through these vessels purged and cleansed forever,
We’ll be complete, your likeness shall shine.
So today, as trial and toil assault us,
And problems loom and seek to pull us down.
Remind us of that coming day of judgment,
Where we will share that glorious crown.

This my favorite hymn came to mind this morning as I was praying about my fear and excitement for the turning on of my cochlear implant in two days. No matter what the outcome I am confident of my Lord's presence and plan.
So beautiful and strengthening

I find myself humming this song when I am down. I know I am not facing my giants alone :)

My parents-in-law and Herman and Stella Bly and Tom and Esther Lee were comforted by this song as missionaries to China in the ‘30’s when warlords were fighting each other. The communists were coming down from the NW and the Japanese were coming in from Sea of China, the E. Chiang Kai Shek was on the S and W. There were armies all over and warLords in between. Gus and Elsie Guldseth kept a suitcase packed in case they needed to flee in the night. The last years there only the men allowed to go back and wives and children were separated.
