Day by day, and with each passing moment,
Strength I find to meet my trials here;
Trusting in my Father’s wise bestowment,
I’ve no cause for worry or for fear.
He, whose heart is kind beyond all measure,
Gives unto each day what He deems best,
Lovingly its part of pain and pleasure,
Mingling toil with peace and rest.
Strength I find to meet my trials here;
Trusting in my Father’s wise bestowment,
I’ve no cause for worry or for fear.
He, whose heart is kind beyond all measure,
Gives unto each day what He deems best,
Lovingly its part of pain and pleasure,
Mingling toil with peace and rest.
2
Every day the Lord Himself is near me,
With a special mercy for each hour;
All my cares He fain would bear and cheer me,
He whose name is Counsellor and Pow’r.
The protection of His child and treasure
Is a charge that on Himself He laid;
“As thy days, thy strength shall be in measure,”
This the pledge to me He made.
With a special mercy for each hour;
All my cares He fain would bear and cheer me,
He whose name is Counsellor and Pow’r.
The protection of His child and treasure
Is a charge that on Himself He laid;
“As thy days, thy strength shall be in measure,”
This the pledge to me He made.
3
Help me then, in every tribulation,
So to trust Thy promises, O Lord,
That I lose not faith’s sweet consolation,
Offered me within Thy holy Word.
Help me, Lord, when toil and trouble meeting,
E’er to take, as from a father’s hand,
One by one, the days, the moments fleeting,
Till with Christ the Lord I stand.

This hymn is so special. It ministers to me in the deep places. Praise God for the gift of the hymns of the church. They meet the need of my soul each and every day!!! God's Peace and Good Journey!!! HBAlex

This song really uplifts my confidence today. Lets be assured that God indeed will meet all our needs, both material and spiritual things. Jeremiah 29:11.

I first heard this song many years ago as a young man. It has echoed in my mind in fragments but I never forgot many of the verses. I am not a church going Christian anymore and I question many things about Christianity. However I still love the Spirit of God. This song is better than a lot of sermons I've ever heard and it still touches my heart ever so warmly.

"Every day the Lord Himself is near me, With a special mercy for EACH hour." Praise God! His children NEVER walk alone. Truly He has said He will never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5).

I heard this song on a Gaither tape and was moved more than usual. For twenty-nine years, I have faced an unusual journey with the mental illness of my brother. Along with some other trials, I was ready to give up, but when I heard this song, I printed it off and framed it.
In bold print and underlined are the words, "As thy days, thy strength shall be in measure," This is the pledge to me He made.
Now I am printing it and enclosing it to a dear friend, Ed Minor, who
is suffering more than I can describe from the problems of radiation on his kidneys. Ed and Mary Ann, his wife, are inspirations to all who visit, but the doctors need a miracle to stop all these infections or we ask that God provide the physicians with needed
knowledge.

This hymn exhibits life-changing text for me and my family. Also, the music corresponds to add to the effect and affect of the words. I love it and am in touch with it daily. I love the Lord.

This song was given to us by a cousin after my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer. We sang it when she was anointed for healing. Blessed be God our Father whose heart is kind beyond all understanding!

It comforts us: "in all our tribulations, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God." (2 Cor. 1:4)
