I sing an old one on my way to work-- There's within my heart a melody , Jesus whispers sweet and low. "Fear not I am with thee peace be still" keeps me singing as I go. Jesus Jesus Jesus sweetest name I know fills my every longing, keeps me singing as I go.

I thank the LORD for my brothers and sisters in the comments below. It's so easy to look on the things in this world and become distracted from the real truth of our Lord and Savior. Things can not fill our hearts like Jesus.

Our Pastor Stephen Davey's closed his teaching last week with this song and being new to the Faith I did not know it. I keep humming it all week and it is really true to turn your eyes on Jesus then the things of this world become dim because of His glory and grace. If you are feeling down, anxious, fearful, sad, angry, unloved, abandoned just know Jesus is always with you and this song will definitely lift your spirit. I hope you know Him, but if you don't know He died for you and the entire world and anyone who believes on Him will be saved. For He rose from the dead to demonstrate eternal life which is available if you would believe on Him.

Why have anxiety about things on earth? We want things and we get anxious about it but when we realize that everything that's new grow or we get tired of them nothing matters on earth but what's eternal.

I struggle with anger and negativity. I love this song as a reminder. If I can catch myself starting to act disgracefully and I turn my eyes to Jesus, everything that is bothering me really does disappear.

Lord, You have given me life for a reason, so I might glorify You. Help me to turn inside out, making my soul, the part of me that is in You, a strong force in my life. As I become distracted by the things of this world, Lord, may I remember to turn my eyes toward You, to look upon Your wonderful face, so all else will be dim in the light of Your glory and grace.

This is one of my favourite hymns. I've gone through a tough spell of depression and this song carried me through. I love MW Smith version of his Hymns album. God is great!

Sometimes I feel so weary, so lonely, so old and ready to give up. The Spirit reminds me of this hymn, I sing, and it's like his wonderful face starts to shine again. Oh! We need to sing and we need to be reminded to look away to Him!

Old Hymns often get me through my toughest times. This one came to mind today. I lost my oldest son Joshua in August unexpectedly. My family continues to struggle but we stand on His promises. As me and my family face medical problems, all I want to do is rest my eyes on Jesus. This song helps me to remember to walk on water I have to keep my eyes on Him. There is nothing of this world bigger than Christ. I feel stronger singing along with the music as I focus on our Savior.

Christ become more real than ever to me, whenever I turn my eyes upon Him while going through my bitter situations. He always shine the brightest during our darkest situations. And darkness cannot overcome it!
