The prolific British hymnwriter Frances Ridley Havergal wrote this hymn on 2/4/1874. "I went for a little visit of 5 days to Areley House," she explained. "There were 10 persons in the house, some unconverted and long prayed for, some converted but not rejoicing Christians. He gave me the prayer, 'Lord, give me all in this house!' And He just did. Before I left the house, everyone had got a blessing. The last night of my visit I was too happy to sleep, and passed most of the night in praise and renewal of my own consecration, and these little couplets formed themselves and chimed in my heart one after another, till they finished with 'Ever, only, ALL for Thee.'" As Frances wrote the words she capitalized ALL.

The LORD allowed me to awaken very early this morning in order to spend some uninterrupted time alone with Him. This is a rarity as a stay at home mother of three young children! As I was praying and asking the Holy Spirit to reveal to me what I need to change in my life to become more Holy, this song sprung to my mind. I haven't heard it since I was a child, and the lyrics resonated with the longing in my soul. "Take myself and I will be ever only all for Thee!"

I just woke up this morning at 5:03 and the Holy Spirit laid this song in my heart. For sometime now The Lord is taking me on a journey of consecration. Teaching me how to live HOLY. Giving Him my heart. The words in this hymn are prayers points as God santifies me for Himself. Oh Lord, please take my ALL; Holy Spirit help me to yield totally to God in Jesus' name...Amen!

This is an old hymn that never grow old. It speaks volume in content and exhibits self denial to His Lordship when you submit to Him to control your impulse then He becomes the center of your worship. Romans:12 vs 1-2. A living sacrifice an offering daily to Him.
