My faith looks up to Thee

1
My faith looks up to Thee,
Thou Lamb of Calvary,
  Savior Divine;
Now hear me while I pray;
Take all my guilt away;
Oh, let me from this day
  Be wholly Thine.
2
May Thy rich grace impart
Strength to my fainting heart,
  My zeal inspire;
As Thou hast died for me,
Oh, may my love to Thee
Pure, warm, and changeless be,
  A living fire.
3
While life’s dark maze I tread,
And griefs around me spread,
  Be Thou my Guide;
Bid darkness turn to day,
Wipe sorrow’s tears away,
Nor let me ever stray
  From Thee aside.
4
All thru life’s transient dream,
Until death’s sullen stream
  Shall o’er me roll,
Blest Savior, with Thy love,
Fear and distrust remove;
Make me Thy grace to prove
  Transform my soul.

The Holy Spirit brought this song to my mind this morning while washing my hair! It is a perfect song for this time in our world. Thanks and praise be to God for reminding us that we are His. My heart swelled when I read that God has also brought this great hymn to the minds and hearts of many of His children!

I woke up with the song in my spirit yesterday though I haven't sang it or seen it since high school. And today, same thing happened. I had to Google the complete lyrics as I had forgotten it. I tried yesterday but couldn't really remember the words clearly. Holy Spirit reminded me today first thing as I opened my eyes, just as it was yesterday.

I have known this song long ago even as a member of the children choir back in Apostolic Faith Church. Now as a pastor, I have a ministration tomorrow Sunday and I heard the Holy Spirit impressing this song in my heart as the congregational hymn for the service tomorrow. Praise God.

I listened to a song on the radio on my way home last night and the singer mentioned Psalms 4 and 27. I woke and read the two Psalms and suddenly this hymn popped up in my head. I had to look it up. It's such a great privilege to know the Lord God!

This is one of my late mother's best songs. It brings strength to my soul and makes me draw closer to God no matter the challenges I face. Truly my faith looks up to Him because with Him all things are possible.
