To God be the glory, great things He hath done, So loved He the world that He gave us His Son, Who yielded His life our redemption to win, And opened the life-gate that all may go in.
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, Let the earth hear His voice; Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, Let the people rejoice; Oh, come to the Father, through Jesus the Son, And give Him the glory; great things He hath done.

Oh, perfect redemption, the purchase of blood, To every believer the promise of God; The vilest offender who truly believes, That moment from Jesus a pardon receives.
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, Let the earth hear His voice; Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, Let the people rejoice; Oh, come to the Father, through Jesus the Son, And give Him the glory; great things He hath done.

Great things He hath taught us, great things He hath done, And great our rejoicing through Jesus the Son; But purer, and higher, and greater will be Our wonder, our transport when Jesus we see.
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, Let the earth hear His voice; Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, Let the people rejoice; Oh, come to the Father, through Jesus the Son, And give Him the glory; great things He hath done.
Praise him whom we live our day with blessings... God Almighty thank you for being our greatest creator, saviour and our one and only Lord. AMEN

We sang this song before bible study the other day and I have not been able to stop thinking about it and singing it. 'Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! Oh come to the father through Jesus the son. Praise the Lord for great things he hath done indeed.'

Thank God for this song... but I use to think the verse one was '... who yielded His life an atonement for sin... '

Observing a quiet time this early morning, and just as am ready to study THE WORD, this song came to heart but the wordings made me come here "searching". Happy I saw it, I got it full. Great thing He does...

"To God be the glory, great things He hath done"
While I was still on admission in the hospital at Akure Teaching Hospital, Ondo state, under going treatment based on the ghastly accident I had with a client's car, on 6th day he reported me in my office and the Police that I stole his car and got me arrested but I was vindicated after investigation... Immediately this Hymn came out of from depth of my heart to God Almighty for His protection, guidance and vindication.

After reading my devotions and praying , I burst into song with the last two lines of the chorus of this hymn. Remembering from my youth in Philadelphia, Pa. I thank you so much for the words I had forgotten. By knowing the tune, and not even the full title, I was able to sing this again and keep it close to my heart. Praise the Lord for the great things He continues to do in our lives.

Soul winning song..... I love it. To God be the glory
Third, we may classify the hymns by the sentiment expressed in the hymns. This is the deepest and most important matter in choosing a hymn. The sentiment of a hymn is the tender feeling of that hymn. The more tender a hymn is, the deeper is its sentiment. Two hymns may have the same subject and be under the same subdivision, but there may be a difference between them in sentiment. For example, Hymns, #39 and #52 are both hymns on the worship of the Father, but they have very different sentiments. Hymns, #39 is a good hymn that is full of excitement. Singing this hymn may make us want to shout. In contrast, Hymns, #52 is a very tender and fine hymn, perhaps the most tender and fine hymn in the section on the worship of the Father. If we study and pray over this hymn, we will sense how deep and tender its feeling is.
