I am Thine, O Lord, I have heard Thy voice

1
I am Thine, O Lord, I have heard Thy voice,
  And it told Thy love to me;
But I long to rise in the arms of faith,
  And be closer drawn to Thee.

Draw me nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
  To the cross where Thou hast died;
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
    To Thy precious, bleeding side.
2
Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord,
  By the pow’r of grace divine;
Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope,
  And my will be lost in Thine.
3
O the pure delight of a single hour
  That before Thy throne I spend,
When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God,
  I commune as friend with friend!
4
There are depths of love that I yet may know
  Ere Thee face to face I see;
There are heights of joy that I yet may reach
  Ere I rest in peace with Thee.

Yesterday I was asking the Lord for a word for 2025. In my spirit, I saw Jesus walking with his disciples on a dusty road. They were spread out with some close enough to hear his words and others further back, chatting with each other. I heard "Draw Closer" and as I continued to listen, I heard the words of this song! May we all refuse to follow at a distance. Draw Closer!!!

Glory to God!

May we all deny ourselves daily, take up our cross daily, and follow Jesus. May we not take for granted the dying of Jesus on the cross and the reason He had to. In Jesus name, Amen.

This beautiful and uplifting hymn swelled up within me as I sought the Lord’s Face for the first time in 2025. It was a call to me to go more closer to Jesus as this year commences as His Word instructs us to draw nearer to Him and He will do same-James 4:8a.
