There is a place of quiet rest

E375
1
There is a place of quiet rest,
Near to the heart of God,
A place where sin cannot molest,
Near to the heart of God.

O Jesus, blest Redeemer,
Sent from the heart of God,
Hold us, who wait before Thee,
Near to the heart of God.
2
There is a place of comfort sweet,
Near to the heart of God,
A place where we our Savior meet,
Near to the heart of God.
3
There is a place of full release,
Near to the heart of God,
A place where all is joy and peace,
Near to the heart of God.

Hymns relax the mind and connect me in a special way to God; especially when life's trials and temptations weigh heavily upon me. God is Good all the time and that is His nature.

If you need strength for the day, this is the one. I just sang it three times and it grows on you. You feel safe in Jesus' arms right in the presence of God, our Father. What a comfort!

Dear fellow in Christ, May you all be blessed.

Since 2013 November, I graduated from undergraduate studies but I did not manage to get job. My life had been up and down but I thank God because I still survive with plenty of blessing.

Today, I invite you to pray for me. I will be attending an interview tomorrow at 10am East African time. This will be my first time interview since 2015 started. Pray for me that His will may be done. I LEAVE IT TO GOD.

One of my favorite hymns...

I sang this hymn in church, brings fond memories during the W2 (also rather sad). God bless our wonderful country of Canada.

This is a fantastic resource. Thanks for your hard work. May The Lord richly bless you in this ministry. I need a box of tissues to listen to many of my old favourite hymns, sadly ignored today.

Cleland McAfee, a Presbyterian minister in Chicago, had just received word that his brother and sister-in-law had lost both of their daughters to diphtheria within 24 hrs. Grief-stricken, McAfee couldn't think of deep theological issues; he could only think of verses in the book of Psalms that brought comfort and rest to those who sought refuge in the Lord. As he meditated on God's Word, he wrote the words and music to this simple hymn.

At the double funeral, outside the darkened quarantined house of his brother, Cleland McAfee with a choking voice sang this hymn publicly for the 1st time. The following Sunday, his church choir sang it from their pastor's handwritten copy. - Great Songs of Faith by Brown & Norton

I'd like to take this opportunity to request that you consider posting the beloved hymn, "Be Still My Soul," on your website. It has calmed my fears and has deeply ministered to my soul over and over again. Thank you for your consideration.
