1
I need Thee every hour,
Most gracious Lord;
No tender voice like Thine
Can peace afford.
Most gracious Lord;
No tender voice like Thine
Can peace afford.
I need Thee, oh, I need Thee;
Every hour I need Thee;
Oh, bless me now, my Savior!
I come to Thee.
Every hour I need Thee;
Oh, bless me now, my Savior!
I come to Thee.
2
I need Thee every hour,
Stay Thou near by;
Temptations lose their power
When Thou art nigh.
Stay Thou near by;
Temptations lose their power
When Thou art nigh.
3
I need Thee every hour,
In joy or pain;
Come quickly and abide,
Or life is vain.
In joy or pain;
Come quickly and abide,
Or life is vain.
4
I need Thee every hour,
Teach me Thy will;
And Thy rich promises
In me fulfill.
Teach me Thy will;
And Thy rich promises
In me fulfill.
5
I need Thee every hour,
Most Holy One;
Oh, make me Thine indeed,
Thou blessed Son.
Most Holy One;
Oh, make me Thine indeed,
Thou blessed Son.

In this particular trail time, this is one of the hymn that keeps me going.
When am no where to be found in Christ it kept ringing in my ear.
Oh what a song!
I don't sing hymns much in church, but last night I just couldn't sleep. Until around 4 in the morning the chorus for this song suddenly came to my mind and it just kept playing in my heart. After all these years, I finally realize how beautiful the lyrics to this song is...

My heart was called to sing this song today when my heart was filled with pain and a lonely sadness. There is a great blessing in the singing of this song. Dear ones, I was mysteriously blessed. There was a quality of a different atmosphere that surrounded me and I was transformed. I was cheered. His anointing is on this song. Reading your comments amplified the blessings. Thank God for you all.

This hymn was written by an ordinary 37 year old housewife from Brooklyn, NY. Annie Hawks was busy with her household chores when the words came to her. She later wrote, "I was so filled with a sense of nearness to my Master that, wondering how one could live without Him in either joy or pain, these words, 'I need thee every hour,' were flashed into my mind. Seating myself by the open window in the balmy air of the bright June day, I caught up my pencil and the words were soon committed to paper."
Hawks reflected, "It was not until years later, when the shadow fell over my way, the shadow of a great loss, that I understood something of the comforting power in the words." God often allows us to learn in the sunshine what we will need to lean on in the darkness. - Great Songs of Faith by Brown and Norton.

Lord I need You in this situation. You are the pillar of my life, my strength in time of trouble. Remember Your word and Your blood You shed on the cross of Calvary because of me. Manifest Your power and let all enemies be ashamed.
