O happy day that fixed my choice

1
O happy day that fixed my choice
On Thee, my Savior and my God!
Well may this glowing heart rejoice,
And tell its raptures all abroad.
  Happy day, happy day,
When Jesus washed my sins away!
He taught me how to watch and pray,
And live rejoicing every day;
Happy day, happy day,
  When Jesus washed my sins away!
2
’Tis done—the great transaction’s done;
I am my Lord’s, and He is mine;
He drew me and I followed on,
Rejoiced to own the call divine.
3
Now rest, my long-divided heart,
Fixed on this blissful center, rest;
Here have I found a nobler part,
Here heav’nly pleasures fill my breast.
4
High heav’n that hears the solemn vow,
That vow renewed shall daily hear!
Till in life’s latest hour I bow,
And bless, in death, a bond so dear.

I like this song. It reminds me of older hymns my Southern Baptist church, Grandview Baptist, sang sometimes. It reminds me of saints gone before and mentors like my friend, Herb, who sent this in his daily devotional/prayer to the "beloved". Praise Jesus...it IS all about Him! Thank You Lord.

I woke yesterday morning singing this hymn aloud from my mouth, and I remembered we usually sing this hymn on Good Friday services way back to commemorate the death of OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST. It also reminds me of my dad when he leads this hymn in the church. GOD bless you and mummy for making your children know Christ at our early age. The hymn reminds and gives me relief that all my sins have been washed away and one day I will see Christ in His glory! AMEN!!!

I was brought up with the Hymns book. To sing it is joy unspeakable! But to have it ring all day long inside my being. Live rejoicing every day. It is heavenly. O Happy Day! H 347

There is nothing like knowing Jesus Christ.

John 17:3 (LIVING) "And this is the way to have eternal life-by knowing You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth!"

I am touched by this as today I was told that my breast cancer may have returned, June 17, 2009, I will live every one as if, I will be meeting my Lord tomorrow. It will happen in HIS time not mine so I will celebrate the Day today as if it were the last with my friends and family. God Bless You ALL!

I like this song because my mother sang this song to me when she rocked me to sleep. Our church didn't sing it because the theology didn't please them. Thanks.
