Will your anchor hold in the storms of life

1
Will your anchor hold in the storms of life,
When the clouds unfold their wings of strife?
When the strong tides lift, and the cables strain,
Will your anchor drift or firm remain?

We have an anchor that keeps the soul
Stedfast and sure while the billows roll,
Fastened to the Rock which cannot move,
  Grounded firm and deep in the Savior’s love.
2
It is safely moored, ’twill the storm withstand,
For ’tis well secured by the Savior’s hand;
And the cables passed from His heart to mine,
Can defy the blast, through strength divine.
3
It will firmly hold in the straits of fear,
When the breakers have told the reef is near;
Though the tempest rave and the wild winds blow,
Not an angry wave shall our bark o’erflow.
4
It will surely hold in the floods of death,
When the waters cold chill our latest breath;
On the rising tide it can never fail,
While our hopes abide within the veil.

I saw myself singing this hymn to a congregation in my sleep. Jesus has been my anchor all through the time of affliction. No matter what you are going through never let go of the anchor, our Lord Jesus. His blood is a strong anchor that will keep us safe through every storm

17 sept 2017, my name is Elizabeth from Nigeria. I thank LORD Jesus for the inspiration of this hymn. Confidently, Jesus is the only anchor that keep the souls of believers in time of sickness, trial. Persecution and what have you. For some months now, He is the anchor that keep my soul in United Kingdom.

It makes me feel like I'm always with God when I have an anchor... Jesus is the anchor.

I sang this hymn in my wedding. It has kept me going and my dad keeps reminding me. As I turn 45 today, the anchor still holds. Hallelujah.

This song came back to me yesterday when I saw an old anchor rooted into the ground as lawn ornament.

What a great song,

God reminded me that He holds me through the storms of life.

It's been over 30 years since I last heard this song, but last week God brought it back into my heart during a small group meeting. I bought a copy from iTunes, and it brings me tears of joy over and over.
