On Calvary’s brow my Savior died

B179 C97 E307 K97 T307
1
On Calvary’s brow my Savior died
’Twas there my Lord was crucified;
’Twas on the cross He bled for me,
And purchased there my pardon free.

O Calvary! dark Calvary!
Where Jesus shed His blood for me;
O Calvary! blest Calvary!
  ’Twas there my Savior died for me.
2
’Mid rending rocks and darkening skies
My Savior bows His head and dies;
The opening veil reveals the way
To life divine and endless day.
3
O Jesus, Lord, how can it be
That Thou shouldst give Thy life for me,
To bear the cross and agony
In that dread hour on Calvary!

We sang this song during our pray and fasting services on Wednesday at the Eckstein Church ( NTCOG) ; (Late Sister Douglas, Sis. Beckles, Sister & Brother Hurdle etc (all gone home now RIP) I just love this song it reminds us of the eternal love that Jesus has for us that He died for us. This song has stayed with me and I find myself singing or just humming it. It is a beautiful song.

Greater love hath no man than this.

"Dark Calvary" - there is no darker time than the hour in which Christ shed His blood for sin!

"Blest Calvary" - that is a blest hour indeed in which my Savior died for me!
