I’ve found a friend in Jesus, He’s everything to me,
He’s the fairest of ten thousand to my soul;
The Apple-tree of trees, in Him alone I see
All I need to cleanse and make me fully whole.
In sorrow He’s my comfort, in trouble He’s my stay,
He tells me every care on Him to roll:
He’s the Apple-tree of trees, the Bright and Morning Star,
He’s the fairest of ten thousand to my soul.
He’s the fairest of ten thousand to my soul;

He all my griefs has taken, and all my sorrows borne;
In temptation He’s my strong and mighty tower;
I’ve all for Him forsaken, and all my idols torn
From my heart, and now He keeps me by His power.
Though all the world forsake me, and Satan tempt me sore,
Through Jesus I shall safely reach the goal:
He’s the Apple-tree of trees, the Bright and Morning Star,
He’s the fairest of ten thousand to my soul.
In temptation He’s my strong and mighty tower;

He’ll never, never leave me, nor yet forsake me here,
While I live by faith and do His blessed will;
A wall of fire about me, I’ve nothing now to fear,
With His manna He my hungry soul shall fill.
Then sweeping up to glory to see His blessed face,
Where rivers of delight shall ever roll:
He’s the Apple-tree of trees, the Bright and Morning Star,
He’s the fairest of ten thousand to my soul.
While I live by faith and do His blessed will;
A wall of fire about me, I’ve nothing now to fear,
With His manna He my hungry soul shall fill.
Then sweeping up to glory to see His blessed face,
Where rivers of delight shall ever roll:
He’s the Apple-tree of trees, the Bright and Morning Star,
He’s the fairest of ten thousand to my soul.

I woke up from a confusing dream !! I had to search for the lyrics of this familiar song to hold on to the one that is *Everything to me* and I was blessed. The assurance of a friend that cannot forsake me came on me.
Jesus as a wall of fire beside me, I have nothing to fear indeed.
Glory be to God... hallelujah
God bless the writer in Jesus name.

Just about starting my devotion this morning and the hymn dripped in my spirit. Had to search for it. At times like this in my country when everything is so challenging and not knowing what next to think or do , reading and trying to sing through the hymn brought instant relief to me. Great hymn

This morning I was just thinking how I don’t really have someone to call a friend, This phrase “I have a friend in Jesus, He is everything to me” came into my mind. I looked up the song and read through the lyrics. Truly only Jesus is the kind of friend we need.
Lord, thank you for being my friend

In sorrow, He’s my comfort; in trouble, He’s my stay. Who else can?

A nice song, but it should be the lily of the valley not the apple trees of trees
