Let me hide myself in Thee;
Let the water and the blood,
From Thy riven side which flowed,
Be of sin the double cure,
Save me from its guilt and power.
Can fulfill Thy law’s demands;
Could my zeal no respite know,
Could my tears forever flow,
All could never sin erase,
Thou must save, and save by grace.
Simply to Thy cross I cling;
Naked, come to Thee for dress,
Helpless, look to Thee for grace:
Foul, I to the fountain fly,
Wash me, Savior, or I die.
When mine eyes shall close in death,
When I soar to worlds unknown,
See Thee on Thy judgment throne,
Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in Thee.

We sang it at church today, but because the words are so powerful to me, am compelled to listen and sing them more and more as I feel my spirit melt away....

This hymn portrays God saving grace in my life. This is what grace and mercy is all about. I feel the Holy Spirit drawing me to Jesus Christ as I sing.

An awesome song composed in 18th century still serves as soothing to the weary soul. I praise God for the composer.

I love the hymn its like a prayer. My favourite is stanza three. When I was small and it was a topic in our sunday school, I first knew the hymn and fell in love with it. God is great it makes me remember that.

My favorite hymn is Rock of Ages, and knowing that I have a Savior to cling to and "hide myself in thee", is an amazing grace. The hymn gives me the meaning of life now and what is to come. I praise God for Holy Spirit, our gracious companion! May we constantly remember His grace is sufficient for me! Hallelujah to the Lord of mercy! I wish our children knows the song and the strength in it as do.

My best song that lifts my spirit when am down, when helplessness encompasses me, when vulnerability seems near. The rock of ages cleft for me.
