Pass me not, O gentle Savior,
Hear my humble cry;
While on others Thou art calling,
Do not pass me by.
Hear my humble cry;
While on others Thou art calling,
Do not pass me by.
Savior, Savior,
Hear my humble cry;
While on others Thou art calling,
Do not pass me by.
Hear my humble cry;
While on others Thou art calling,
Do not pass me by.

Let me at Thy throne of mercy
Find a sweet relief;
Kneeling there in deep contrition,
Help my unbelief.
Find a sweet relief;
Kneeling there in deep contrition,
Help my unbelief.

Trusting only in Thy merit,
Would I seek Thy face;
Heal my wounded, broken spirit,
Save me by Thy grace.
Would I seek Thy face;
Heal my wounded, broken spirit,
Save me by Thy grace.

Thou the spring of all my comfort,
More than life to me;
Whom have I on earth beside Thee?
Whom in heaven but Thee?
More than life to me;
Whom have I on earth beside Thee?
Whom in heaven but Thee?

Emma - we are, as true believers in Christ, supposed to be humble & self denying to our Lord, giving Him ALL the Glory & honor every hour, every day. Yes we are to beg, we are to beg with comfort that He hears & His work is done (on the cross). He delights in mercy but also requires our humbleness, it shows our submission to His will. If we are not submissive, we cannot claim Him.
